For the launch of the first HbbTV / Smart TV offer of the German TV channel RTL II, the interface designs as well as the interfaces of various format and game specials were developed. The particular challenge was to develop a user interface that was as simple and self-explanatory as possible and could be operated by the viewer via TV remote control. RTL II's HbbTV offering includes detailed background information on the program, additional video material on the individual shows, and interactive applications.
